Fabric History/Pedigree: 1980s fabric derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used).
Fabric Description: Japanese vintage light-medium silk kimono fabric originally intended to make a woman's kimono; a solid purple colored background is interwoven throughout with diagonal rows of Imperial Chrysanthemums, every one 1.125 inches / 28.58 mm diameter; foreground motif is with large-scale Japanese family crests (called 'mon'), the largest being 10inches / 25.4 cm at longest dimension; these mon are filled with either the classic rounded-cranes, or flowers, pine branches, etc.; Motifs are on one side, prints; Other details of the motif: Colors are white, orange, pink, dark red, green, yellows, gray, black and off-whites; Please see close-ups - last one is of the interwoven Imperial chrysanthemums; nice sheen and subtle drape.
Recommended for making clothing/ accessories, but also we feel suitable for display as hanging, or runner.

Condition: Excellent; except for a handful of very tiny white pin dots of dye, barely visible, even so, price reduced
