Item Details and Description:

  • Fabric History/Pedigree:  Deadstock Japanese kimono cotton (new but unsold stock) estimated from the 1960s.

  • Fabric Description:  Light-medium weight seersucker summer cotton , also called railroad stripes typewith thirteen half-inch(12.7 mm) wide bands, evenly spaced running lengthwise; bands are composed of 3 pinstripes: pale-blue, purple, pale-blue (see close-ups); This type of weave renders the fabric a bit thicker and textured to the touch, as the weave breathes and wicks moisture nicely; originally intended for use in making yukata (summer/bath kimono); same on both sides.

  • Fabric Type: Still slightly firm, fabric softens with wash. (hand-wash separately, lukewarm water-- see our FAQ Pages for cleaning tips).

  • Colors: Please remember that colors and contrast shown may differ on different devices. Please note colors listed in the text here.
