Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Pedigree: 1970's deadstock found as a partial roll; unused.

Fabric Description Details: The fabric looks dark brown, but seems more of indigo-black with brown silk Japanese pongee silk called tsumugi; it is lightweight, translucent, slightly textured, and a little stiff; This Indigo black-brown silk is solid throughout; however, if you look very closely, the extremely fine silk threads (warp and weft lines) appear as micro-small mesh pattern (We could not capture this too well ourselves in close-ups); also, under very bright close-up lighting there is an iridescent tinge (from the indigo perhaps);
Great for doing sashiko.

Colors: Please use our text descriptions to complement your sense of the colors, as color and contrast differ on different devices.
