Fabric History/Pedigree: 1970's deadstock found as a partial roll; unused.
Fabric Description Details: Black silk Japanese pongee silk called tsumugi, lightweight, translucent, and slightly stiff; The design is the same on both sides: stylized daisy Japanese mums (chrysanthemums) design, each is just under 5 inches/12.7cm diameters, in 3 rows and 3 columns in diagonal arrangement; flowers are rendered with pixelated fine-mesh look typical of tsumugi: background color of flowers is dark red, inner petals are gray, and at flowers centers it is mustard yellow; same on both sides.
