Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Thin, delicate lightweight silk, soft, translucent fabric; no-sheen, bright color designs;  print on one side but mostly visible on reverse; background fabric color is burgundy-red and interwoven with  traditional flowers (though it is subtle and hard to see belcause the fabric is mostly filled with designs); In addition to many types of flowers,tthe designs include Uchide no Kozuchi (Lucky Mallet) and broad and sweeping stream flowing down the length of the fabric;  (Please see close-ups); Colors used in motifs: dark and bright reds, dark green, light mustard-yellow, dark blue, pink, green, gray, white, black, purple and rusty-orange; overall a bright & bold presentation; slight drape;

Suitable for making scarf or accessories.
