Fabric History/Pedigree:  Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by clicking HERE

For an excellent 'how-to' do  Arai-Hari oneself, we highly recommend Kae Warnock's Blog, Chocolate Factotum:

Fabric Description: Light-medium weight silk deconstructed from a woman's kimono; This is a 1980s  or earlier fabric piece which is a solid medium-hue burgundy background color; Motif is one we've rare seen -- stylized very thin cream-colored lines rendering a flock of Japanese cranes in flight; the cranes' legs and feet are barely visible, comprised of singly thinner pinstripes; designs are same on both sides; fabric has no sheen, minimal drape; please see closeups.

Note on colors: Since all devices display colors differently, please use our text descriptions of colors to complement your sense of the fabric's color.
