Fabric Description: Lightweight silk deconstructed from a woman's kimono; This is a 1930s-50s fabric piece with red color background, predominant motif is large (9 inches / 22.86 cm) floral-deeorated pinwheels with cords and tassels; Secondarily, note the floral orbs - each 5 inches /12.7 cm diameter; different flowers used in each floral orb;

background fabric is interwoven throughout with a traditional motif of Imperial (Royal) Carriage (or, Flower Carriage) as well as the diagonal maze type design traditionallyassociated with Buddhist temples, as a subtle background these areas show sheen; Very colorlul -- full spectrum used, but are various light pastels; range of colors in the designs: pink, yellow, white, light aqua-blue, gray, green and red; All designs print on one side but given the thin nature of the fabric is seen on reverse;
