Fabric History/Pedigree:  Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by clicking HERE

 For an excellent 'how-to' do  Arai-Hari oneself, we highly recommend Kae Warnock's Blog, Chocolate Factotum:

Fabric Description: Lightweight silk deconstructed from a woman's kimono; This is a 1930s-50s fabric piece which has a mostly peach color background,with large (8 inches / 20.32 cm or more diameters), floral orbs, decorated temari balls, gala ribbons and cords, leaves, and most every type of flower used in the large floral orbs; Furthermore, the entire fabric is interwoven with tiny  traditional 'shibori dots' and orbs - all the same designs  as used in foreground; these areas show sheen; Very colorlul -- full spectrum used, to include pastels; All designs print on one side but given the thin nature of the fabric is seen on reverse;

Note on colors: Since all devices display colors differently, please use our text descriptions of colors to complement your sense of the fabric's color.
