Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is lightweight silk for use in making a woman's kimono; Background color is cream throughout with printed classic designs of many types of flowers filling the fabric;  flora included are: chrysanthemums, Japanese maple leaves, plum blossoms on branches, daffodils, cherry blossoms on branches, and ginkgo leaves; In addition to the flowers there are other classic motifs, including traditional Japanese country home/porch, Imperial flower carts. and streams; In addition, the background is interwoven with tiny flakes (probably meant to be falling cherry blossoms- a common theme) in sheen throughout;  please view closeups; colors of designs are varying shades of pastels, light to medium blues, and dark reds are predominant, also whites, browns green to olive-greens land lavenders;slight drape; Designs on one side, slight sheen.
