Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is lightweight silk for use in making a woman's kimono; Background color is light cream color but the fabric is almost completely covered with flowers; there are any types of classic Japanese flowers and leaves, all in light pastels ( salmon, pink, lavenders and blues); the darkest colors are the scattered iris flowers in salmon-light orange, and leaves accented in dark lavenders (Please see closeups); Considerable sheen and smooth to the touch; print, Print on one side, somewhat visible on reverse; slight drape.
