Fabric History/Pedigree: Lightweight deadstock silk (new but unsold stock) estimated from the 1960's. Found in roll with maker's mark at start of roll; probably Kyoto roketsuzome, we do not recognize the factory name.
- Fabric Description: Certified Authentic Roketsuzome (Batik style wax-resist dyed) silk; slight crepe (chirimen) feel with country scene(bamboo leaves, chrysanthemums, clouds in classic style; Wax-resist roketsuzome shows patterns mostly on one side.
Colors: Dark Mauve, sort of dark plum background color; various colonial blues, grays, and off-whites in the motifs.
