Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is lightweight & slightly translucent silk, originally from a younger woman's kimono; motif is of ornate and fully decorated fans with flower clusters in multiple of varying designs, many types of flowers (Mums, Peonies, Iris, chrysanthemums, cherry & plum blossoms,mapole leaves, peach blossoms, daffodils), all in traditional rendering as foreground over a honeycomb-like tiny mesh (shibori-look)  burgundy-red and white fields as background; also, decorative cords, Imperial furnishings - including a kimono on a kimono stand; also, wooden arching Traditional bridges, a stylized white wave, pond, room screens, various small items; Other colors seen throughout the fabric: yellow, blue, green, white, pink, black, and purple, mustard-yellow, orange, several blue hues, dark purple, pretty much the full spectrum but effect is brightly colored;  designs are intended for one-side display; slightly stiff to the touch and little drape.

Recommended for making scarf/accessories, or even display.
