Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is a very fine lightweight & translucent silk, originally from a younger woman's kimono; the fabric has interwoven designs throughout of decorated fans, peonies and decorative cords; Full motif of cascading obi(s) top to bottom, and flower clusters in multiple blocks of varying designs, many types of flowers in traditional rendering, also crests of many sizes - all with flowers or symbols within; Background color is pale pink, and motifs have dominant reds (darker and bright) with shades of orange; Other colors seen throughout the fabric: yellow, blue, green, white, black, and purple;  designs are intended for one-side display; soft to the touch and nice drape.

Recommended for making scarf/accessories, or even display.
