Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Pedigree: 1980s fabric derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used).

Fabric Description: Japanese vintage lightweight silk kimono fabric originally intended to make a woman's kimono; a burnished gold color  (with hint of mustard) background is interwoven with parallel bands running lengthwise(warp) of various sizes, the largest being 5/8th (.625) inch/15.88mm wide; each band is filled with a wide variety of flowers and geometric shapes, all mostly under 5/8ths(.625)inch/15.88mm; Please see closeups.

All of the designs are interwoven, with the front side having more sheen, and the reverse designs being in negative contrast to the front.

Suitable for making scarf/accessories.
