Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is lightweight silk from a girl's ceremonial kimono; Background color is a dark fuschia, with the entire fabric interwoven with many flowers and clouds motifs; The printed designs are ornate and colorful clusters of flowers with open decorated fans and tsuzumi drums, pinwheels and decorative cords swirling as background; wide range of colors, mostly reds, teals, greens, mustard, and off-whites; some uses of dark aqua-blue and lime greens; Print is on one side but slightly visible on the reverse; soft fabric has good drape;
