Fabric Description Details:

This type of silk is for making nagajuban (under-kimono) for women, it is a very pale lime green that the Japanese call "uguisu green", after the uguisu bird -- a Japanese bush warbler, sometimes translated as a Japanese nightingale; This nagajuban fabric is heavily interwoven and textured with multiple classic Japanese motifs and designs, all of them running in lateral swaths (weft/horizontally) that average 2 to 3 inches (5.08cm to 7.62cm deep, and have small sine-wave configuration; designs within these swaths as follow: bamboo leaves, Japanese maple leaves, various sized chrysanthemums, plum/cherry blossoms, streams, ponds with ground fog;

Note on our pictures:  Our last image is intentionally rendered to black-white to better reveal the focus and degree of texture of these interwoven designs.

Great for making scarf and accessories.
