Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.Fabric Description: This is soft lightweight silk derived from a 1980s woman's kimono; Background color is a light cream-white color with a full background of tiny dots evenly spread throughout; the design is in cranberry-red, using thin lines to render large-scale peonies and leaves extended to fill the fabric; Note there are some small yellow accents in the larger peonies; Print on one side, but mostly visible on reverse; slight drape, full sheen.
