Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner /reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description:  This lightweight fabric is a traditional cotton fabric derived from a 1960s era yukata (summer cotton kimono); the fabric is only slightly stiff and a tad translucent with the background color being rusty-red with vertical (warp) .375(3/8) inches/ 9.53mm wide bands of multi-colored fine pinstripes; bands are also equidistant .375(3/8) inch/ 9.53mm apart; pinstripes colors: dark burgundy, pink, orange-red, olive-green & grays -- please see close-ups; same on both sides.

Fabric Type:  Still slightly firm, the fabric softens with wash. (hand-wash separately, with lukewarm water-- see our FAQ Pages for cleaning tips).
