Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is lightweight silk for use in making a woman's/girl's kimono; Background color is deep orange-red throughout with interwoven designs of decorative cords and tassels as well as flower and leaves; these backgrounds have sheen; Main foreground designs are of printed 6-inch/15.24cm diameter decorated temari balls and decorative cords and tassels; Bright colors of the designs include bright red, dark ruby-red, vermillion (shuiro), whites, pinks, yellows,dark-to-pale greens, gold, and yellows -- bold presentation;  Print is on one side but slightly visible on reverse; soft fabric has good drape; Recommended for making scarf/accessories.
