Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is lightweight silk for use in making a woman's/girl's kimono; Background color is deep purple throughout with printed ornate designs of many types of flowers (large peonies, maple leaves, cherry/plum blossoms, bamboo leaves, daffodils, etc); also, large decorative tsuzumi drum and open decorated fan,as well as stylized decorative cords and ribbons flowing in the background;  Many colors, mostly bright and pastel hues that include: peachy-pink, pink, whites, shades of yellow and moss greens; Print is on one side but slightly visible on reverse; soft fabric has good drape; Recommended for making scarf/accessories.
