Fabric History/Pedigree: Deadstock unsold bolt of fabric, new condition but from another era, the 1990s.
Fabric Description: Off-white color silk In original bindings and maker's labels, Daimaru Department Store logo and bindings. Daimaru is a higher brand store in Japan, perhaps comparable to Macy's or better, in the USA; this bolt is certified 100% Japanese silk under Daimaru's mark. Includes full dou-uraji (lit. torso liner) plus silk for kimono collar; basically, this is a kit to replace a woman's kimono liner and collar. Was on sale at Daimaru Department Store, labeled as "discounted due to some imperfections" in the 1990s for sale price of ¥5,800 (about US$45 at the time).
