Fabric History/Pedigree: 1990s kimono Ro (summer weave) silk fabric pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Lightweight sheer Japanese silk,t translucent Ro type weave(skip-stitching making fabric breathable) peach-pink solid background; Note the thin lines caused by the Ro skip-stitched method running like pinstripes laterally (weft); designs on one side, but as this is quite fine and sheer, mostly same on reverse: this is a common traditional motif using many types of flowers (chrysanthemums, peonies, iris, cherry blossom, others) along with what looks like bird/cricket cages, traditionally used by aristocrats in Old Japan (Edo - Meiji periods) when going on an outing to watch cherry blossoms or other outdoor days out; In addition, there are a few figures of apparent waterfalls; Colors used in the flowers and designs vary from white, soft yellows, pinks, blues (many shades), as well as oranges, fuchsias,  and multiple shades of green; also thin black lines; Please see close-ups; good drape and fairly soft to the touch.

Suitable for making scarf/accessories.

Colors: Please consider our text descriptions to complement your sense of the fabric, as colors and contrast differ on different devices.

Condition: Excellent.
