Fabric Description: This is light to medium weight silk for use in making a young woman's ceremonial kimono; Background color is red with interwoven streams composed of parallel lines flowing left to right, cascading down the entire fabric in the background; This interwoven stream effect results in a textured feel; these lines can be seen in open spaces and on the reverse (Please note our last image below); The motifs are an abundance of many types of flowers filling the fabric, along with tsuzumi drums  as well as stylized water ponds that are black background with hexagonal grid in metallic gold; within the hexagons are family crests (mon) shapes; flower types are very many -- please see close-ups;  Colors run the spectrum from black to various shades of light blue, several tones of whites, greens, and even some orange; designs on one side; fabric has slight drape.

Recommended for making scarf/accessories, or even framing and display.
