Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Lightweight 1960s silk fabric, soft and very slightly translucent fabric; background color is a mix of dark purple and sort of a dark lavender(depends on light  type; At first glance this seems to be a solid fabric, but actually the weaving is different with 9.25 inches(23.5cm) wide with weft-dominant minuscule pinstripes, and 5.25 inches(1.34cm) with warp & weft equal;  Same on both sides; some drape.

Recommended for quilters, sashiko.
