Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s kimono silk fabric pieces received from a traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type:  Lightweight, minimally translucent silk; textured but not quite chirimen (crepe); designs on front side only(print), but slightly visible on reverse; the background color is a sort of pastel plum with a hint of rose-red; Front is filled with 3.75 inches / 9.53cm long elements of nested oblong hexagons; Nested shapes are in staggered diagonal arrangement; At the center of each element is a small mon (crest), white border and black interior hexagons; Lines are in soft-white; some drape;(Please see close-ups).
