Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is a 1930s-1950s silk, a delicate, very lightweight kimono fabric, translucent, with a mustard-lime background color;   Motif throughout the fabric is of plum blossoms and branches, bamboo leaves, and stylized rendering of traditional bamboo fences; plum blossoms/branches are a dark cherry-red, and the fences use mostly soft pastels in gray, red and green; some dark green bamboo leaves; Design is on one side, but as the fabric is so thin it is almost the same on reverse; no sheen, slight drape, good for making scarf or accessories.

Colors: Please use our text color descriptions to complement your sense of the fabric due to differences in contrast and color on different devices.

Condition: Excellent.
