Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Thin, delicate lightweight silk, soft, translucent fabric; no-sheen, bright color designs;  print on one side but mostly visible on reverse; background fabric color is cranberry-red and interwoven with a traditional large-scaled diagonal maze; Fabric motif is replete with flowers, bamboo leaves, peaches, daffodils, children toys, clouds, temari balls, streams, water/pond classic designs; many types of flowers are used (Please see close-ups); Colors used in motifs run the spectrum from dark purple to various pastels -- overall fabric is a  bright & bold presentation; some drape.
Suitable for making scarf or accessories.
