Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner / reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Lightweight fine gray silk, translucent; some sheen in interwoven design spaces; print on one side but visible on the reverse; Motif is of large scale traditional decorative ribbons (Noshi), many flowers; the interwoven designs are of water (small waves) run throughout but only detectable in the solid spaces; Colors used: dark aqua-blues, dark purple, orange, red, pink, white, pale blue, green, pink, and yellow; the fabric is soft and has a nice drape.

Recommended for making scarves or accessories.
