Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Lightweight soft silk is a copper color with sheen in the interwoven design areas; motifs are classic Japanese designs of Royal Cart with an abundance of flower types, as well as bordered rectangular (or rhomboid) shapes; most of piece is filled with specks and flakes in the background; Fabric originally for making an under-kimono (nagajuban); nice quality silk, some drape; good for making scarf or accessories.
