Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This is lightweight silk for use in making a woman's kimono; Background color is a mix of pale yellow to peach colors with interwoven designs being stylized large peonies and their leaves; the designs are textured due to being interwoven; Other colors used: orange and dark tan; Note there is slight gradation coloring in the background and the flowers themselves; fabric has a slight sheen in the interwoven design spaces; Print on one side, but mostly visible on reverse; slight drape.
