Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50's  silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner / reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: This high quality, 1930s-1950s silk is a soft, delicate lightweight fabric, very slightly translucent, originally used to make woman's kimono; background is  dark chocolate color (looks indigo in low light), with interwoven flowers throughout background (only visible when holding up piece to bright light); Foreground motifs are blossoms on cascading branches;  Motifs seen on both sides but one side has fuller colors and design; Motif colors: tan, light brown, grays, light purple and off-whites; a few yellow accents on petals in places; good for making scarf or accessories.
