Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Lightweight silk, soft, slightly translucent in brighter light; no sheen; designs print on one side; background fabric color is a deep dark purple with classic motifs of various flowers, including Irises, cherry blossoms, pine trees, maple leaves, bamboo leaves and chrysanthemums all cascading down lengthwise; Colors used for the designs as follows: off-white/cream,red, lavender, pink, light green and some silver accents; nice drape;(Please see close-ups).
