Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,  by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description:  Lightweight meisen silk, thin and translucent,  is estimated from the 1930s-1950s; Meisen is defined literally as 'common silk stuff'; and has grown in popularity in recent years; Meisen from that period are often larger bold patterns and bright but this is somewhat muted in tone; Background is a diagonal maze rendered  in pale-gray  on dark purple background; this piece of fabric is softer than most meisen, so recommended for making scarf or accessories; very slight sheen; Larger flowers with their leaves are about 8 inches X 7 inches (20.32 cm X 17.78 cm); Colors of flowers are a mix of muted aqua-blue-gray to pastel aqua-blue; also some light mustard color accents in flowers; patterns same on both sides; please see close-ups.

Note on colors: As all devices have different colorations and contrast, please use our text descriptions of colors to complement your sense of the color of the fabric.
