Fabric History/Provenance: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner /reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description:  Lightweight fabric, not translucent, is a traditional cotton fabric originally intended for use in making a yukata (summer cotton kimono) or coat;  Color is a background of dark indigo-blue (almost black in low light) with pinstripes in parallel bands running lengthwise; the colors of the stripes are tiny off-whites, soft gray, and colonial blues (Please see close-ups); same on both sides; fabric still slightly stiff.
