Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s fabric derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used).

Fabric Description:  Lightweight dark pink silk fabric, minimally translucent; the fabric has a very slight crepe feel (not quite the chirimen of today) and has unusual groups of very thin pinstripes running the full length; pinstripes are metallic silver and black; These groupings of the metallic pinstripes are arranged randomly as viewed across the fabric - Quite unusual; Motifs are mostly cream-white color with large flowers (stylized cherry blossoms and peonies) in dark & lighter aqua-blue; other colors of motifs are a lime-mustard color; motif one side only (Please view closeups, especially last image which is a close-up of the metallic pinstripes).

NOTE: Recommended for making scarf or accessories.

Condition: Excellent for its age.

When purchasing more than 1 yard, the fabric is sent in uncut lengths.
