Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall, by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Lightweight silk, minimally translucent; slight sheen; probably intended for use in making a woman's nagajuban (under-kimono); designs are printed on one side; background fabric color is red and interwoven with classic geometric maze designs as well as flowers in bloom; the designs are in off-white with some accents in yellow, pale-aqua-blue, and orange; The designs are large Temari balls and decorative cords; Designs also include geometric shapes (triangles & partial triangles that are filled with interwoven patterns of geometric mazes or mon/crests).
