Item Details and Description
Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960s fabric derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used).
Fabric Description: Lightweight black silk fabric, slightly translucent, woven in 'Ro' fashion (skip-stitch rows for summer fabrics); the fabric is black color with fine pinstripe-like Ro weave running lengthwise (See closeups); However, while the fabric looks like just a solid-black, there are large roses interwoven throughout; these can only be seen in certain light conditions (Our last image is intentionally over-exposed (brighter than actual) to better reveal the interwoven rose patterns); fabric has slight drape; Perhaps of interest to our textile artists for dyeing.
When purchasing more than 1 yard, the fabric is sent in uncut lengths.
