Fabric History/Pedigree: 1980s silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner / reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
Fabric Type: Lightweight fine silk, dark plum color(looks black in low light), no sheen; print on one side but some visible on the reverse; fabric background is filled with speckles throughout; the motif is of a field of switchgrass and flowers; The grass and flowers are in tan colors with some off-white specks, the background speckles are light lavender and similar hues.
