Item Details and Description

Fabric History/Pedigree: 1990's, pieces derived from deadstock rolls of kimono mock-silk (synthetic); (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used).

Fabric Description: Japanese vintage light-medium weight mock-silk kimono fabric originally intended to make a woman's everyday kimono; the background colors are equal parts dark purple and milk-white; Motif is of classic arrow feathers running lengthwise; there are also writings, Takara no irifune (also pronounced iribune), which loosely translates as "Treasure Ship Coming into Port";  Designs are the same on both sides; also, the fabric has very slight crepe texture, a minimal mock-chirimen.

Colors: Please use our text color descriptions to complement your sense of the fabric due to differences in contrast and color on different devices.

Condition: Excellent.
