Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's kimono silk fabric pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Type:  Lightweight minimally translucent silk; slight sheen; designs on one side; the background is a soft cream color with designs in a brownish-burgundy color; Design is a classic diagonal thatch work grid all done in tiny pixel lines; note also the classic symbol for shrines in Japan and China can be seen at junctures within the grid; also, each piece has seven 2 inches (5.07cm) tall mock-shibori diamond shapes that are spaced lengthwise (see closeups); Designs on one side; slight drape.
