Fabric History/Pedigree: Deadstock, yukata cotton, unused from the 1930s-1950s.
Fabric Description: Lightweight and minimally translucent fabric is a traditional cotton fabric originally intended for use in making a yukata (summer cotton kimono) or coat; Color is a background of black with stripes, pinstripes, and bands equally spaced, running lengthwise(vertically); The motifs are rendered in the weaving process, (NOT Kasuri dye method), same on both sides; Colors of the stripes/bands are: dark red-bean rouge (almost dark chocolate)color, moss-green and pale yellow-white; please see close-ups.
