Fabric Description: Lightweight fine red silk originally intended to make a woman's dress kimono; This is a 1930s-1950s fabric piece which is a dark salmon background color that is interwoven with many classical designs, including country house porch, shibori-dot fields/pond, pine branches, clouds, and other flowers; foreground designs are of elaborately decorated fans and also Temari(decorative balls),also flower clusters and decorative cords; Within the fans are many types of flowers, family-crests, Japanese bridge, maple leaves, and more flowers;
Colors within the designs and figures are very red, (dark to light), yellow,green, bue, plum, peach colors; light pinks, dark aqua-blues, dark reds, yellow and mustard, whites, and some greens; (see closeups); This is a print process, so designs are on one side, but as the fabric is thin, some of the designs can be seen on the reverse.
