Fabric History/Pedigree: 1960's pieces derived from deadstock rolls (10yds each) of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used)
Fabric Description: Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric probably used to make girl's kimono; the fabric is lightweight with no sheen; smooth to the touch; slight drape; Background is deep red with colorful print designs with flower clusters, stylized flowers in combination with spread-wing cranes (commonly seen in mon/ crests) as well as origami cranes; colors used in designs: peach, pink, aqua-blue, green, yellow, deep-purple, & oranges; design figures are arrayed randomly throughout.
