Fabric Description: Lightweight silk originally intended to make a younger woman's kimono; This is a 1960's fabric piece which is a very light cream color background but is largely filled with designs; Motif is a combination of bamboo stalks, different colored bamboo leaves, stylized pine tree branches, and several types of flowers; also classic traditional stylized cloud shapes and use of shibori-dot-fields within some figures;  Colors used in designs include: reds (darks as well as lighter tones), greens, mustard-gold as well as black, and off-whites; some of the designs are accented with metallic gold lines within them; the fabric is slightly textured, resembling chirimen but is only lightly so; designs on one side.
