Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Lightweight silk originally intended to make a woman's kimono; This is a 1960's fabric piece which is a darker tone (cherry?) red background color with interwoven background in classic geometric maze design that includes ancient symbol or Shinto Shrines; Motifs are clusters of various types of flowers, with lesser amount of maple leaves; Orb backgrounds are white and pale pastel blue; other colors: orange, pink, light-dark greens,dark red, off-white, yellow and grays (see closeups); the interwoven geometric maze lines have a slight sheen;
