Item Details and Description
Fabric History/Pedigree: 1980's fabric derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used).
Fabric Description: Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric originally intended to make women's kimono; background-color is vermillion (shuiro - traditionally a color thought to bring good luck, keep 'evil spirits' away), with interwoven designs of stylized large plum blossoms, irregularly shaped blossoms that are about 5 inches/12.7cm at widest; the white ones have been rendered to be textured due to shibori (tie-dyeing); blossoms are arranged in diagonal rows; background spaces in vermillion have no sheen, but the plum blossom designs do; has some soft-drape.
Recommended for making scarf/accessories.
Note: Colors vary with different devices so please complement our text descriptions when considering colors.
When purchasing more than one yard, lengths are sent uncut.
