Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.

Fabric Description: Light-weight silk hand-done shibori (tie-dyed); originally intended to make nagajuban; This is a 1980's fabric piece with a bright burgundy color background, classic shibori designs of cream colored orbs (about 1-inch/25.4mm) diameter) as well as shibori 'dots' fields; Fabric is interwoven throughout with small open fans(uchiwa) and floral shapes -- quite hard to see even in close-ups; same on both sides.

Condition: Excellent.
Recommended for use in making scarf or accessories.
