Item Details and Description:
Fabric History/Pedigree: Pieces received from traditional Japanese kimono cleaner/reconstructor called Arai-Hari -- see an excellent explanation of traditional Arai Hari by textile expert John Marshall,by click-pushing HERE.
- Fabric Description: This is a 1960s silk piece; lightweight, slightly translucent; the background is a dark-deep red color but most of fabric is filled with designs that are a medium dark tone of aqua-blue as well as bright-orange and tans; This motif is very unusual: it is barely recognizable (to our eye) as a Japanese motif; There are palm fronds (or banana tree leaves?) and bananas; also some sort of blossoms as well as what might be seen as water ponds or streams; Recommended for making scarf or accessory.
- About Colors: Please consider our text color descriptions to complement your sense of the fabric, as colors and contrast differ on different devices.
- Condition: Excellent.
