Item Details and Description
Fabric History/Pedigree: 1950s-1960s fabric derived from deadstock roll of kimono silk; (Deadstock means old inventory which is like new but has been in storage, never been used).
Fabric Description: Lightweight, slightly translucent Japanese vintage silk kimono fabric originally intended to make girl's ceremonial kimono; background colors are dark-red and white, running in 3 same-sized columns and one smaller size column in a classic asa-no-ha (hemp leaf geometric patterns); other motifs: chain link, chrysanthemums and stylized oval shapes with blossom centers and various color leaf shapes; design colors are aqua-blue, pink, peach, dark-tan, purple, mustard and orange; Designs print on one side, but as the fabric is thin, almost same tones on reverse.
If buying more than one yard, fabric is sent in uncut lengths.
