Fabric History/Pedigree: 1930s-50s Japanese pongee silk fabric for making woman's kimono; deadstock (like new, never used from another era) for use in making silk kimono; 100% Japanese silk; Received as a full roll.
Fabric Type: Lightweight silk originally for use in making woman's kimono; the fabric is smooth with slight sheen; motifs are pinstripes and bands running lengthwise; spacing between the stripes grows from very tiny to 1/4 inch/ 6.35mm; Fabric is black and stripes are silver-gray; Single black band at one third from edge is sandwiched by silver gray bands of equal size; little drape.
